Established in June 2013
In June of 2013 Melissa’s passion for finding “one of a kind” artisan based finds led her to open Burlap Ranch. She enjoys researching destinations and traveling to small towns seeking that one special artist or item, then sharing with her friends and customers at Burlap Ranch.
Being a Realtor for 10 years allowed her to assist clients fulfilling their dream of home ownership, and she was equally rewarded helping clients make it “their home”.
Whether it was a remodel, creating or designing a new space, or helping to define “their style”, Melissa realized she enjoyed all of these things collectively, and it encouraged her to dream which soon led Burlap Ranch to became a reality.
Inspiration began with a marriage…
Melissa’s style found significance in 1989, when she married Cody Scott, a third generation hunter.
He loves the sport of hunting, and grew up appreciating ‘old things’ and valuing artisan creations. If you ever visit their home, you’ll see their loves reflected in “their style”, which is a mix of textures, trophies, leather, and hides, all combining to create a masculine rustic style, graced with classic furnishings and family (dogs too!).

You can find her at the shop from time to time and greet you with a friendly bark at the door! Don't worry, she's extremely friendly!
The Scott’s are blessed with two daughters, Ashley and Chelsea. Melissa loves sharing her passion with her daughters. Chelsea, her youngest, you can find at the shop daily and manages all social media and all online matters!
Define Your Own, Unique Style!
She enjoys working with artisans in support of their craft and sharing it, along with many “Made in USA” collections. Supporting and selling products with a purpose and story behind it. It's all about supporting local, yall!
Melissa encourages clients to create ‘their look’, and counts it a blessing to have the opportunity to work with customers on a daily basis. Waking up doing what she loves and not seeing it as work. It is truly a dream!
